Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. and Indian JBM Group established a joint venture company. The strategic goals of the cooperation are development, sales and service maintenance of vehicles with alternative powertrains – electric and hybrid buses – in the Indian market.
The role of Solaris in the joint venture company is to develop, integrate and deliver components as well as know-how for the alternative propulsion systems to JBM. The first jointly manufactured vehicle will be launched after 12 to 18 months from establishment of the company. The vehicles with alternative powertrains will be manufactured at the production facilities of JBM in India, partially basing on Solaris’s construction.
JBM Solaris joint venture, based in Delhi NCR, India will capitalize on the strong reputation Solaris has developed as a leading provider of mass city transportation solutions and on JBM’s strength in the area of design and development to suit Indian requirements.
