According to a contract signed with the city’s municipal operator Hagener Straßenbahn AG in January 2013, Solaris will deliver five Solaris Urbino 18.75 to the German city of Hagen. The delivery will be completed by the end of this month.
The cooperation between Hagener Straßenbahn AG and Solaris started in 2011. So far, the operator has bought nine Solaris Urbino 12 buses, but this number will increase by the end of this month. According to the recent contract, Solaris will deliver five 18.75-metre buses, fulfilling its first order for vehicles of this type, and five Solaris Urbino 12 buses.
The Urbino 18.75, the longest Solaris bus ever offered, was presented during IAACommercial Vehicles exhibition in autumn 2012. The vehicle gives the possibility of installing an extra row of four seats, enhancing its passenger capacity.
