One of the largest private public transport provider in Luxembourg, Sales-Lentz, has ordered the first Solaris bus to complement its 300 vehicle fleet. The agreement to purchase the new Urbino 12 requires the delivery to take place in the last quarter of 2017. It is the Polish producer’s first contract on the Luxembourg market.
Under the terms of the agreement signed only a few days ago, the bus will be powered by a Cummins engine, which complies with the strict Euro 6 standard regulations. The new Solaris Urbino 12 will be equipped with 39 seats, some of which will be folded, in order to deliver maximum comfort for the passengers.
The Polish manufacturer’s bus will operate in the area of Luxemburg’s city of Bascharge, which is located approximately 1050 km from the factory where it will be produced.
“At the beginning of the year we have won a tender to deliver 208 hybrid buses to Belgium, just a few days ago we celebrated entering the Dutch market and today, we are honored to be chosen as a bus supplier for a transport provider in Luxembourg. It is an extraordinary source of pride and joy that the Benelux region countries appreciate our company. At the same time, it is an evidence of recognition of the hard work performed by our engineers and constructors, who constantly put their efforts in developing innovative and ecological solutions” – said Zbigniew Palenica, Deputy CEO of Solaris Bus & Coach.
Sales-Lentz, the public transport operator from Luxemburg, is very interested in modern and environmentally friendly technologies. Between 6th and 10th March 2017, the carrier tested the new Solaris Urbino electric, which operated on two lines in the city of Bascharge and performed extremely well.
The products of Solaris were to this day present in 30 countries. Owing to the new orders from the Netherlands and Luxembourg, the range exceeded to 32. The total quantity of vehicles delivered by the producer to the clients in over 600 cities worldwide approaches 15.000.
