Solaris Bus & Coach has won the prestigious 2017 EBUS Award, organized by the VDV (German Association of Public Transport Companies). The Polish manufacturer has been awarded for a long term contribution in the development in emission free public transportation, continuous actions in that area, the willingness to satisfy customers’ expectations and the wide range of solutions offered in the respect of e-mobility.
The EBUS Award is among the most important international awards for environmental protection granted in the field of public transport. The Jury of the contest assesses companies as well as individuals, who by their implemented actions within last two years contributed to the development of electro mobility in the area of public transportation. The award grows in significance with every edition by becoming permanently present in the consciousness of European society, which shows a growing understanding of the need to introduce ecological solutions for transportation and improve the global climate.
The decision of who should be awarded with this year’s EBUS Award was taken by a group of entrepreneurs and customers participating in previous editions of the ‘Electric buses – market of the future!’ trade conference. The winners have been announced in four categories: Bus manufacturer, Producer of components or subassemblies, Advisory and monitoring companies, Carriers (division: metropolises and medium-sized cities).
‘The Ebus Award received by our company and by the new Solaris Urbino 12 electric is another reward, which puts us at the forefront of alternative drive, city and intercity bus’ manufacturers. It is an irrefutable proof that our Construction Department, as well as the entire staff, had taken the right path of development by following the course of electromobility. This honor is even more important to us, as it has been presented by professionals and customers, who cope with the emission free public transport on a daily basis. We are very pleased that by receiving the EBUS Award, we become a pioneer of innovative solutions not only in Poland, but also abroad’ – said Zbigniew Palenica, Deputy CEO of Solaris Bus & Coach as he accepted the EBUS Award statuette.
The EBUS Award is a part of a spectrum of activities for electromobility that are propagated in a very active manner throughout Europe. This year, for the first time, the awards ceremony was held as a part of the ‘Electric Buses - market of the future’ conference, which took place on 6-8 March 2017 in Berlin.
