Solaris strengthens its position in the Norwegian market. The company has recently signed two contracts for the delivery of its buses to the Vestfold county and Oslo. The first contract has been signed with Tide ASA, a public transport company, and is for the delivery of 11 hybrid buses. The second one covers the delivery of 46 low-floor Urbino Euro 6 buses for Oslo to Norgesbuss AS. Both will be completed in 2014.
The order from NorgesbussAS for its operations in Akershus and Oslo, comprises the delivery of 46 Solaris Urbino standard-length buses equipped with Euro 6 engines. The 75 mln NOK (approximately 9 mln EUR) contract will be completed in October this year. Solaris will also establish a repair shop in the northern part of Oslo.
Solaris low-floor city buses are well-known to the inhabitants of Oslo, where 16 Urbino have been delivered since the start of cooperation in 2006.
The second order for the delivery of 11 Solaris Urbino 12.9 Hybrid buses comes from Tide ASA - a new customer for Solaris. The eco-friendly hybrids will start their service in the Vestfold county at the beginning of July 2014.
"With the delivery of 57 new Solaris buses the company will strengthen its position in the Norwegian market. Thanks to our new contracts not only did we gain a new and valuable customer, Tide ASA, but also we maintained a fruitful long-term cooperation with Norgesbuss", says Martin Gruber, Solaris executive board member for Sales, After Sales, Marketing and Quality Assurance.
