Back to press releases

Solaris has been present on the Israeli market since 2012. So far, the bus manufacturer has delivered there nearly 200 city and intercity buses. All the contracts Solaris has concluded in cooperation with the local bus operator United Bus Services Nazareth. At the end of the current year Solaris has acquired further major orders for a total of 110 buses on the local market.

The first of three contracts relates to the delivery of sixty Urbino 12 to one of the largest bus operators in Israel, DAN from Tel Aviv. With this order Solaris buses will debut on the streets of Israel’s one of the largest metropolis.

The second agreement covers the delivery of thirty Urbino in 12-meter version to another large company on the Israeli passenger transport market – Egged, which is active not only in its home market, but also outside the state. These vehicles are mainly to serve the lines in Tel Aviv, however they might appear also on the streets of Jerusalem.

Last but not least comes the order from Afifi Group of Nazareth for the supply of ten intercity buses InterUrbino and ten low-floor buses Urbino 12.

According to these three contracts all one hundred and ten Solaris buses will be delivered the customers between March and May 2016.

"In recent years Israel has grown to be one of our most important foreign markets. This is also thanks to our local partner and distributor, United Bus Services Nazareth. We do not exclude, however, the future intensification of cooperation with other companies from Israel,” said Dr. Dariusz Michalak, Deputy CEO of Solaris responsible for research and development.
