Euro 6 engines in all Urbino buses. Solaris buses fulfil stringent norms. Solaris offers Euro 6 diesel and CNG engines. Solaris presents Urbino 18 with DAF Euro 6 engine at the UITP World Congress and Exhibition in Geneva.

Solaris has unveiled a brand new generation of engines for its family of Urbino buses, all meeting the stringent Euro 6 emission standard. The diesel engines come from DAF (DAF MX11) and Cummins (ISB6.7E6). The supplier for Euro 6 CNG engines is Cummins with its ISLG engine.

The Solaris Urbino 18 presented at the 60th UITP World Congress and Exhibition in Geneva is a composition of stylish design, reliable and practical solutions and the guarantee of safety and eco-friendliness. Its unique look is defined by the characteristic curved windscreen. Over the past ten years, the Urbino 18 has become an integral part of the cityscape of major towns and cities throughout Europe and beyond. The articulated Urbino 18 is modern and durable, yet very easy to use, operate and maintain. It is made of corrosion-resistant steel, fully low-floor, and its reinforced structure enables service in the toughest road and climate and conditions.

The bus is driven by a modern, durable and economical DAF Euro 6 diesel engine that meets the environmental requirements coming into force from January 2014. With high torques at low speeds, outstanding fuel efficiency, market-leading reliability the new DAF MX-11 engine one of the key engines for the Urbino 18. At power ratings of up to 370 PS and a peak torque of 1600 Nm, it is going to be the best solution for articulated buses from Solaris.

Information Solaris

Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o. is one of the leading producers of city and intercity buses in Europe.
