Back to press releases

On October 20, 2020 at 12:00, the premiere of an electric novelty from Solaris – a 15-meter battery bus – takes place. For the first time in the company's history, the premiere will be celebrated in a unique interactive online format. The company's management and vehicle designers talk about the newest electric model.

“We keep our word” – that is the slogan for the online premiere of the new model in the portfolio of Solaris electric buses that will take place on October 20, 2020 at 12:00. The manufacturer had announced the unveiling of the Urbino 15 LE electric at the beginning of the year, before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Europe. Despite this difficult time and unexpected challenges, Solaris keeps its word and introduces its latest electric vehicle to the market. At the same time, it opens a new – intercity – chapter in its emission-free offer.

The innovative bus marks a new phase in Solaris brand development, as the Urbino electric will ventures out of town with it. Is it also a breakthrough moment for intercity transport in the transitioning towards zero-emission. The tri-axle bus is the first proposition in Solaris' electric portfolio that meets requirements of both the first and the second vehicle class, and of both categories at the same time. This means that the bus can be used as a city bus, but also for intercity travel. The Solaris High Energy+ batteries, with a total capacity of 470 kWh, offer ranges of up to a few hundred kilometres on a single charge in real-life conditions. It makes it possible for operators to plan zero-emission routes not only within the city confines but also beyond these.

Urbino 15 LE electric is a modern combination of safety, comfort and style. The electric drive, innovative driver assistance systems, cameras  instead of side mirrors and a modern interactive touch panel will guarantee a calm and confident ride for the driver. A spacious interior with air conditioning can fit up to 65 comfortable seats and practical solutions such as USB chargers, reading lamps or comfortable armrests will make the journey a pleasure for passengers.

The electric novelty od Solaris surprises with the flexibility of the solutions used. The characteristics of a low entry bus, large range on a single charge and a wide range of options for additional equipment will meet the needs of both urban traffic and suburban routes. A variety of technical solutions also allows the bus configuration to be perfectly tailored to individual operator needs.

Solaris keeps its word and invites its customers, suppliers, media representatives and all others interested in the best solutions for modern and reliable public transport to a meeting and presentation of the premiere Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric on October 20, 2020 at 12:00.
