Representatives of Solaris Bus & Coach and Warbus, a private bus operator chosen to provide services in Jastrzębie-Zdrój in southern Poland, have recently signed a contract for the supply of fourteen Urbino 12 of the new generation. The innovative vehicles will be delivered to the customer in March 2016.

The Warsaw-based transport provider Warbus is one of the contractors operating lines of the inter-municipal transport association in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. According to the contract, the new Solaris buses will be delivered to the customer at the end of March 2016. The new vehicles will debut on Jastrzebie-Zdrój’s streets on 1st April 2016.

"We opt for reliability and environmental friendliness. Undoubtedly, the improvement of fresh air quality in Polish cities has been growing as a major challenge. By investing in a green and innovative fleet we wish to improve the quality of life in Polish metropolises. I am sure that passengers in Jastrzębie-Zdrój will appreciate the fourteen eco-friendly and modern Solaris buses and enjoy their comfortable facilities as well as elegant internal finishes," said Paweł Szymonik, General Director of Warbus.

The Solaris buses for Warbus will be fitted with low-emission Euro 6 engines Cummins ISB6.7 and Voith Diwa 6 transmission. The vehicles are a true asset to the public transport in Jastrzębie-Zdrój thanks to their comfortable amenities such as air-conditioning, video surveillance, LED passenger information system and USB ports for charging mobile devices.

Each of the fourteen 12-meter Urbino offers twenty-eight seats, twelve of which are pedestal-free. Energy-saving LED technology provides indoor and outdoor lighting. This is complemented by the expressive, but also functional design, which creates an attractive environment for passengers. The modern and futuristic style of the new Urbino has earned prestigious and significant design awards, including the iF Design Award 2015.

The recently-launched new Solaris Urbino 12, the flagship product of the innovating manufacturer of city buses and trams, is a completely new design of a city bus, which provides robust rigidity while being significantly lighter in weight. The new construction of the vehicle is expected to lower fuel consumption and operating costs and guarantees highly distinguished aesthetics. High standards of comfort for passengers were achieved through a spacious and bright interior supported by its assured handling. The whole was completed with the eye-catching, expressive, but also functional design which creates attractive travelling environment for passengers. Service accessibility of the new Urbino 12 has been improved with screwed body paneling, allowing quick replacement and repair in case of damage. Hatches now open to 170°, 40° more than before, to facilitate easy access to components.

Jastrzębie-Zdrój will be the sixth city in Poland to have Solaris buses of the new generation in its urban landscape. Already, the citizens of Wejherowo and Grudziądz benefit from the advantages of the new vehicles. Soon the latest Solaris buses will also operate in Plock and Olsztyn. In recent days, Solaris also signed a lease agreement with Poznan City Transport, who will receive twenty Urbino 18 in the new design.
