Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. is going to deliver 11 environmentally friendly Solaris Urbino 12 buses to the picturesque city of Dubrovnik in Croatia. Commissioning the state-of-the-art low-floor buses made in Poland is operator Libertas Dubrovnik d.o.o., which will receive the ordered vehicles in the middle of 2020, which will help the city manage the busy passenger traffic at the height of the tourist season.
The order placed by public transport operator Libertas Dubrovnik d.o.o is worth a total of EUR 2,5m. Pursuant to the signed deal, by the end of May 2020, the most popular among tourists Croatian city will be handed over 11 modern low-floor city buses Solaris Urbino 12. A four-year warranty will be issued for the vehicles.
The Polish producer will fit the ordered buses in economical and ecological 270 kW engines meeting the restrictive emission standard Euro 6D. The driveline will be completed by an automatic transmission featuring an economy program that enables a considerable reduction of fuel consumption. Of the 85 passengers the Bolechowo-made vehicles can carry at a time, 24 will travel seated. An efficient air conditioning system of the whole vehicle interior will provide comfort to all passengers. The vehicle will also comprise a passenger information system with internal LED displays. In line with the expectations of the contracting authority, the progressive Solaris Urbino 12 will be also equipped with a video surveillance system with cameras monitoring not only the passenger compartment but also the road in front of the bus.
Following the completion of the order placed by the client from Dubrovnik, Solaris will have delivered its first city buses of the Urbino family to Croatia. So far, there is only one vehicle made in Bolechowo cruising the roads of the country at the Adriatic Sea - that is the intercity Solaris InterUrbino 12.8 delivered to the city of Karlovac in 2014.
