Following a decision of Solaris owners Solange and Krzysztof Olszewski as well as the Solaris board, Dr Andreas Strecker will become the new Chief Executive Officer of Solaris Bus & Coach with effect from 1st April 2015.

“On 1st April 2015, I will step down as CEO of Solaris Bus & Coach,” Solange Olszewska explains. “This decision has been taken in agreement with the entire board of the company. It is a carefully considered step that has long been in the planning by us and my husband. Our company and our employees are ready for a change. Just as today, Solaris will belong to the Olszewski family. As owner and advisor to the board, I will continue to provide support on strategic decisions affecting the development of the company.”

With effect from 1st April, Dr Andreas Strecker will be the new CEO of Solaris Bus & Coach.

Andreas Strecker holds a doctorate in Technical Business Administration from the University of Stuttgart. He has over 15 years of experience in transport industry, including nine years as President and CEO of Daimler Buses North America. Previous work for Daimler AG and its subsidiary EvoBus GmbH included being head of worldwide bus strategy as well as controlling bus manufacturing activities in Mexico, Latin America and Asia. For the past four years, Dr Andreas Strecker was Chief Financial Officer of Novoferm Group, a leading European producer of building materials. He is 53 years old, married and has two children.

“We have known Dr Andreas Strecker for close to 20 years, having first met during IAA Commercial Vehicles 1996 in Hannover,” Solange Olszewska says. “I am convinced that his knowledge and his international experience in the bus industry, together with the skills of the remaining members of the board, most of whom have been working with us from the beginning, will guarantee further dynamic growth for Solaris.”

Information Solaris

Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o. is one of the leading producers of city and intercity buses in Europe.
